Best Indoor Exercises to Lose Weight

My inner voices (Lazy Me & Active Me) fight with each other when the time is to hit for the exercise.

Lazy Me: “It is so hot outside. It is getting difficult day after day to go out in morning for jogging and running.”

Active Me: “Don’t worry you have to gear yourself up. It is you who will be benefited with the exercises.”

Lazy Me: “I know but all my stamina goes away because of this hot I must say ever hot sun as soon as I start it.”

Active Me: “I know you will not budge. Let me give you some tips on how to remain indoors and yet be Fit”

Lazy Me: “No don’t go further; I don’t have enough time to join the gym now. You already know so many things needs to be tackled.”

Active Me: "You found another excuse. That’s it. Let me tell you, you can get fitter even by not going to gym. Ok I don’t underestimate here the importance of gym. I am just motivating you as you are stuck up at the moment with other priorities. You surely have to kick start and join it as soon as you have enough time. However till that time let’s do something at home"

Lazy Me: "Stop it man. I am so upset. Neither I have enough money to afford high tech machineries that gym has nor do I have any space left in my room to keep those machineries. It is all dreamy. Leave it” Active Me: “You are here to just talk and talk and give excuses. Let me take you to the article on Indoor Exercises that are available on Fitness Beauty Plus Website. I am sure it will change your attitude."

Before moving further let us get ready for those exercises.

• Put up some music.
• Don’t forget to do the warm up.
• Be in comfortable clothes.
• Wear the shoes.
• Stay hydrated.

Let me introduce you to some of the indoor exercise. Exercise can be divided into following four categories. For each category I will mention the meaning, advantages, disadvantages, techniques and conditions when it should be avoided in the future posts.

Flexibility Exercise – Stretching is the key in doing flexibility exercises. By regularly doing flexibility exercise you will gain the freedom of movement with lesser muscle tensions.

o Head Nod, Tilt and Turn
o Shoulder and upper arm stretch
o Arm, Wrist and Elbow Circles
o Side bend and stretching
o Upper body stretch
o Leg Stretches
o Calf stretch
o Hip, Ankle and Knee Circles
o Yoga or Pilates

Lazy Me: “My God. There are enough of options you have given to work indoors as well. Let me now stop giving any more excuses and move straight to making me fit. See you next time Active Me. Nice talking to you.”

Active Me: “Good to know that you are now convinced. Work hard and play harder for the healthy and fit life.”

Home Remedies to Cure Dandruff

Home Remedies to Cure Dandruff

Dandruff is the most common problem faced by almost every citizen across the world. Dandruff occurs due to dry scalp and the dead skin comes out causing irritation. When we try to overcome the irritation using our hands, white snow like flakes comes out and the more we try to remove the dandruff the more the dead skin generates and comes out and it spread across the hairs.

In many cases, people think shampooing the hairs every day will solve the issue. But daily use of shampoo further dries up the scalp because many shampoo contains lauryl sulfate as the soap takes all the oil out from the skin and makes it further dry. So as soon as the hair dries up after shampoo, we may feel more dryness and visible dandruff. Get Shampoo Without Sodium Laureth Sulfate/Sodium Lauryl Sulphate

There can be many causes of dandruff, but it mainly occurs due to growth of fungal infection on the scalp and is an infectious condition.

You may complain that you got the dandruff back after following these tips. I totally agree with you. May I ask you a question?

1) Did you follow this twice a week
2) Did you changed your shampoo to Shampoo Without Sodium Laureth Sulfate/Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
3) Are you still following the practice or you just left after following it for 3 to 4 weeks

Trust me, it takes 6 to 8 months to cure dandruff completely. Following this practice improves your hair condition and makes it soft and silky. So continue following all these practices.

Follow these homemade tips to cure dandruff

1) Oil Massage : Almond Oil has high content of fatty acids that prevents the scalp from getting dryer. Massaging helps in loosening of dead cells and fungus around the scalp that lead to dandruff. Fatty acids kills the fungus that generates dandruff. Its a general theory, oil massage your hair and keep it over night. Get up in the morning and shampoo it to clean up the hair. Almond oil is a natural coolant which spreads itself into a protective layer over your scalp and prevents the roots of the hair from being exposed to chemicals. Get Benefits of Sweet Almond Oil For Hair Growth

2) Egg + Curd : Take 1 whole egg. Remove egg yellow yolk part from it. Add 3 tablespoon of curd. 1 tablespoon honey. 1 lemon. Mix all the things thoroughly. Do not blend it. Mix it using a spoon, the way we mix egg omlet. The paste should not be extreme thick. Apply the paste on the hairs. Since this is not extreme thick, it will easily flow down the scalp. Keep this for 45 minutes. Once it half dries up, clean your hairs with cold water. Do not use warm water as it will further open up pores and makes hair weaker. Use cold water and clean up all the paste. Apply Shampoo Without Sodium Laureth Sulfate/Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.

3) Aloe Vera : Aloe Vera is the most useful product for hair growth, to bring the moisture in the hairs and prevent the scalp from getting dryer making it dandruff free. Aloe vera contains antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which help a lot in keeping a check on dandruff. Take some aloe vera gel and apply it on your scalp for around 30 minutes. Later, wash your hair with some mild shampoo.

4) Curd + Olive Oil : Curd as explained earlier, acts as a moisturizer. Mix olive oil with curd and apply on the hairs 1 hour before wash. Olive oil makes the hairs lustrous and smooth.

5) Apple Juice + Garlic Paste + Curd : Take out the liquid from crushed apple and add it to garlic paste. It would be extreme thick. Add some amount of curd to make it half thick and apply on the scalp. Keep it for 30 minutes and wash it with Shampoo Without Sodium Laureth Sulfate/Sodium Lauryl Sulphate.

6) Reetha : Reetha is a wonderful home remedy for treating dandruff. Apply a paste made of water and reetha powder on your scalp. Keep this on for 2 hours and wash properly with a good shampoo.

Benefits of Sweet Almond Oil For Hair Growth

Benefits of Sweet Almond Oil For Hair Growth

Its a general theory, oil massage your hair and keep it over night. Get up in the morning and shampoo it to clean up the hair.

But which oil is most beneficial for faster hair regrowth, to give lustrous hairs, remove dandruff permanently, reduces hair fall. Answer is Almond Oil

Almond Oil comes in two categories :
1) Sweet Almond Oil
2) Bitter Almond Oil

Sweet one is considered the best by most of the people as it helps in achieving all the benefits mentioned above in 3 months if followed regularly.

Almond oil is derived from the kernel of almond seeds.

Benefits of the same :

1) Soft and Shiny Hair: Applying sweet almond oil overnight and washing your hair with Shampoo in the morning makes the hair soft and shiny in nature. The practice must be followed twice a week with a gap of 2 days in between.

2) Removes Dandruff: Almond Oil has high content of fatty acids that prevents the scalp from getting dryer. Fatty acids kills the fungus that generates dandruff.

3) New Hair Growth: Regular massaging your hair with oil and cleaning in the morning helps in opening the pores enabling the oxygen flow and helps in growing up of new hairs.

4) Prevent Scalp from Chemicals: Almond oil is a natural coolant which spreads itself into a protective layer over your scalp and prevents the roots of the hair from being exposed to chemicals.

5) Removes Dead Cells: Massaging helps in loosening of dead cells and fungus around the scalp that lead to dandruff. Since almond oil is very light, it forms an outer layer on the hair shaft, strengthening the existing hair which helps in preventing hair loss.

6) Acts as moisturizer: When we shampoo normal oil, it gets completely removed from the scalp. But almond oil has special property, it helps in sealing the moisture once shampoo is applied. Hence it maintains and increase the shine in the hair.

10 things to keep your mind healthy

Healthy mind and healthy body go hand-in-hand and are the key for the successful people. Ones who are gifted with healthy mind has the ability to take the rational decisions in day to day life. People with healthy mind not only lead the successful life but also the satisfying one. These people do things in certain way and many things they avoid to do. Looking at the successful people, I have noticed certain things that are common in them. So, today I thought of consolidating the points which I have encountered that most of the strong willed people do that helps them to maintain the health of their mind.

1. Quick to move on: Success and failures are part and parcel in journey of life. Neither successful people celebrate the success nor they grief on the failures for the longer period of time. I am not saying that they do not celebrate or they do not grief. But, they quickly take steps to move on. When they get success, they celebrate and move on to the another target to achieve. In the same way, when they fail, they grief and quickly move on to check out on how to rectify the same. First lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to move on in life

2. Full control: The strong willed people have the full control on their emotions. They are the ones who do not get upset if superior authority has shouted on them or get angry when any subordinate has not performed the tasks according to their expectations. The mind of such people are well-centred. Second lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to have full control of your emotions.

3. Change is the key: One of the best thing they understand and follow is to accept the change. Change is going to happen, no matter what. The only thing that is certain is "Change". Accepting it will give the peace of mind. Third Lesson for the strong and healthy life is to accept that change is inevitable.

4. Stop wasting energy: Healthy mind will not waste energy on the things that are beyond their control. For example, healthy mind will not crib on traffic instead they will utilize the time in doing something fruitful, like may be call up a friend or two or read the book. Forth Lesson is to utilize your energy to benefit your body, mind and soul.

5. Real People: Successful people are real in their approach irrespective of situations and people. It is not important that you have to please everyone around at all the times. What is important is to have your say and move on. Do not take stress unnecessary. But be real and truthful in what you say. Fifth Lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to stop pleasing everyone and being real.

6. Take Decisions: Don't waste time to over analyze the situation. Take decisions, no matter if you have to take risks. There are 50% chances of failures but there would be 50% chances of success as well. Sixth lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to take decision.

7. Learn from the failures: Successful people do not repeat the mistakes. They do fail but they learn the lessons from the failures. They distinctively recognize the reasons of past failures and never repeat them. Seventh lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to learn not only from successful incidents but also from the failures.

8. Don't be jealous: Healthy minded people are happy on other's success and not jealous. You are going to be restless if you envy on the other people success. Instead spend your energy to learn the things on how they have achieved the success and implement them with your own uniqueness. Eighth lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to celebrate other's success

9. Don't surrender after the first failure: Every successful person has at one point or the other has experienced the failure in life. They became successful by re-trying till the success is achieved. Ninth lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to try try till you succeed.

10. Don't expect quick results: Successful people do not expect everything at the earliest possible date. They divide their goals into small, medium and long term period. Accordingly work on them without expecting the result of all the goals in the short period of time. Another key is that they set the achievable targets, neither too hard nor too soft on themselves. Tenth lesson for the strong and healthy mind is to set the achievable target with the proper timelines in both personal as well as in the professional areas.

These are the ten most important things that I have observed in the strong willed successful people. What do you think? Is there any specific thing that you have observed that is common in them? Share with us, we would love to hear from you.

8 basic changes in kitchen for healthy life.

Health of the family depends upon how we keep our kitchen. Today, I am going to list down the ten basic things following which can help you and your family to lead the healthy life. In case if you are on the Weight Loss Mission than this post is the must read.

1. Storage of healthy food: Keep the healthy food at the eye level in the refrigerator or compartments. You should place them in such a way that it is easily available. Keep all fruits and vegetables at the eye level or not below the chest level while keep chips, cold-drinks and all junk food at the bottom of compartments or at the top level.

2. Size of the utensils: Use wider utensils in case of healthy food and smaller ones keep it for unhealthy ones. Filling portion in the smaller containers will be less which will indirectly results in lesser intake of junk food.

3. Measurement Utensils: Make use of measurement utensils instead of adding the ingredients while preparing the food. For instance, pouring oil without the spoon has the higher chances of more inclusion of oil as compared to when poured with the help of the measuring spoons.

4. Availability of the Healthy Food: It is important to keep the tab on the quantity available of healthy food. You should start purchasing once there are only last 2 portions are available. This way, you will not have an excuse of indulging in junk food because of non availability of food.

5. Quantity: Use bigger compartments for the leafy vegetables, fruits and smaller ones for junk food. Appearance plays a bigger role and will give the impression that junk food containers are filled more as compared to healthy food items

6. Be prepared: If you do not get time in the morning, it is better to do preparation the night before whatever you can. For instance, you can keep the vegetables chopped the night before. This will prevent you from giving the reason of not cooking food in morning because of no time.

7. Use multi coloured food: Include multi coloured items and lots of variety in your meals. This has the twin benefit. 1) You will get the visual pleasure of too many things in the plate. 2) Because of multiple food items, there is lot of space utilized to keep the food segregated in the plate, yet the plate looks full. Top of it, eating variety of food ensures the intake of various essential nutrients

8. Have patience: It looks tempting to taste food as soon as it is prepared. But in the name of tasting sometimes we eat the entire bowl. Best way is to take your portion in the appropriate dishes and serve only when it is the time to eat the meal.

These basic things, when followed regularly, contribute in the huge way in maintaining the health and fitness.

Yoga to Improve Vision and Eyesight Naturally

I have discussed Exercise for Eyes in this article . Today, I am going to discuss on how to strengthen eyes with the help of yoga. According to Swami Vivekananda there are four main streams of Yoga namely Jnana Yoga, Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Karma Yoga. To give the radiant look in eyes, do these yoga exercises at least four times in a week.

1)Sarvangasana: Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand Pose) comes from the Sanskrit word Salamba means supported and Sarva means all, anga means body part and asana meaning posture or position. In this yoga, person lie down on the back and lower body is lifted up and hands support the lower back.

2) Matasyasana or Fish pose: A counterasana of Sarvangasana, Fish pose or Matasyasana is a backbend. Here a person lie on the back and lift the chest up keeping their bottom and neck down. Due to the position blood flows towards upper body giving the benefit to eyes.

3) Kurmasana or tortoise pose: Kurma meaning turtle or tortoise in Sanskrit. In this, person sits with legs wide apart from each other, knees bent slightly. Forward your body and take your hands under the legs to behind and face downwards.

4) Padahastasana: Padahastasana or hand under foot exercise is also good for eyes. In this yoga, person stand erect, slowly talking hands downward bending the body and taking hands below the feet.

5) Ardha Cakrasana: In this yoga person stand erect and bend head backwards holding the hands on the waist.

6) Closing eyes halfway Yoga: Close your eyes halfway down. You will notice that your upper lids constantly tremble with different amplitude. Concentrate your efforts on stopping this trembling. (Little hint – it will be easier to do if you look at further objects). Slowly close your eyes, like your eyelids are made out of puffy cottony clouds. Think that your eyes get extremely comfortable in their position. The blood filled with the oxygen flows through your eye sockets. When you inhale imagine the breezy oxygenated air coming through your nose into the eyes. Exhale through the mouth. Breathe this way for one or two minutes and end this exercise with a smile.

Give 20 minutes in a day to do these yoga for at least four times in a week. It will refresh your eyes and will help in keeping it healthy for life.

Contact your eye specialist for the appropriate liquid drops for your eyes.

6) Pamper your eyes: Go for the eye massage once a month. It soothes your eyes and gives you the calming effect. You can also make use of potatoes / cucumber slice and place it on your closed eyes for 10-15 minutes to give the much required relief to your eyes.

Revealed the answer of "Why we should Meditate?"

We continuously talk during our wake hours, either with fellow beings (where dialogs are exchanged with other human being) or with ourselves (where the internal dialog takes place). The internal dialogues are connected with the emotional being of oneself. Have you been in the situation where you listen the song and it takes you to the history of good times or bad times that has happened in past which is somehow connected with the song? Similarly when we encounter the place that is somehow connected with the past, we tend to talk about those situations that happened long back either with someone else or with ourselves.

We talk to ourselves on various topics ranging from health to love affair to work related issues to family problems, the list is endless. Many studies have proved that human being subconsciously talks to themselves about all the anxiety and happiness they have in their life.

Going in past and remembering the happy moment’s of life works wonders on human health. Though our mind is capable of thinking positive incident, but the problem is that our inclination, most of the times, is towards the negative encounters. This is because human being tends to remember emotional incidents in life more clearly comparatively than the happy moments. Holding even the slightest of pain or the feeling of revenge results in getting back to past again and again.

To resolve this it is important to heal and develop the habit of forgiveness in order to achieve the peace with the past. One of the successful methods to achieve this is through meditation. Meditation works as the cleanser. It cleans the negative thoughts / stress from the mind and helps to achieve the positivity apart from making the human being aware of the importance of being satisfied. Meditation, in simple words, helps human being to live and experience this very moment instead of wandering in past or future.

There are numerous other benefits of meditation apart from the one that is mentioned above. Starting from lesser chances of age related diseases like blood pressure, hypertension, heart related problems etc with improved digestion problems and better outlook towards the society in general. It is important to mention here that regular meditation helps human being to walk on the path of positivity with the added advantage of improved focus, concentration and understanding levels. So start meditating now. Click here to read Meditation and its health benefits - Part I
