Home Remedies for Head Lice and Nits

Monsoon is in full swing. Like everyone else, I too love rains. It has the amazing smell which makes the environment romantic every time it pours. I love the feeling of droplets falling on my face when I sit beside window watching the beautiful raindrops falling on the ground. Rain is just amazing.

But with cooling and soothing environment, it also brings with it some problems. A problem of head lice is common during the rainy season. The problem of head lice is mostly faced by school children and the ones who are long hairy beauties. When scalp and hair gets wet during the rainy season, it brings the most annoying problem of head lice. Head lice can occur anytime and spread fast. This is the reason it should never be avoided or left untreated. Today, I will list down home remedies to treat head lice.

Hygiene: First and foremost is to maintain hygiene. Because of the cool weather, sometimes we avoid to wash our hair. This is not good practice. We need to wash our hair regularly even during monsoon season to maintain the good health of hair. More importantly when we get wet in rains. Do not forget to clean the scalp thoroughly after enjoying the rains. Also clean the comb, bed sheet and pillow covers regularly.

Clear lice and nits: Because of their nature of multiplying quickly we need to be very careful and clear it whenever it appears. Do not wait for the weekend to get it cleared. Check and clear your hair of all the lice and nits as soon as it appears. Use combs that help in removing of the lice. Do ask your mom or maid to check if there are any left-over lice.

Oiling: Oiling is one of the most important thing for your hair. It is food for our scalp and hair. Do oil your hair at least once in a week if not more. Pamper yourself with oil massage at your favorite salon or ask your mom to do the hot oil massage.

Garlic Treatment: Grind 10 – 15 cloves of garlic to the fine paste. Mix this with 1 tsp of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on the scalp and leave it for 30 minutes. After that rinse it thoroughly with anti lice shampoo. Make use of lice comb to get rid of all the lice and nits.

Apply the mixture of lemon Juice and baking soda for 3-4 hours. Wash it and use the lice comb for removing the lice and nits.

Another remedy is extracting the juice from 2 – 3 onions. Mix it with white vinegar. Apply all over your scalp. Wrap your hair with shower cap. Leave for couple of hours and then wash it.

Savlon is also effective in removing the lice and nits. Apply it from scalp to roots. Wait for 20 minutes and wash it with shampoo. Try this for 3 to 4 times for effective results.

Sharing is not caring: If someone in the family suffers from lice problem, do not share her belongings like comb, pillow, etc. It will result in spreading the lice to others.

Hope this article reach to the ones who are affected with the problems of lice and nits. Do you have any other remedy?

Calluses and Corns on hand, foot, toes - Causes & Treatment

Hardened thick dead skin on feet or hands is called Calluses and Corns. Generally, it is gray or yellow in color. Initially, it does not cause any pain. However, if untreated, it can grow deep inside and causes severe pain when pressured. It is normal for an active person to suffer from calluses and corns. Below I have mentioned the main causes of corns and how I cure my corns.

Main Causes of Calluses and Corns
1) It is caused due to pressure on the skin of feet or hand.
2) Friction or injury can also result in Calluses and Corns.
3) Pressure from footwear is the main cause of calluses and corns on the feet.

What to avoid?
If you are suffering from feet calluses and corns avoid the following:
1) Avoid tight shoes, high-heeled shoes, loose shoes and shoes with a thin sole. In simple words, wear proper fitted shoes.
2) Avoid wearing sandals and shoes without socks.
3) Avoid exposing the corn to water.

Are you suffering from digestion problems?

Do u kick start your day with exercise and the magic combination of food that provide the required vitamins and nutrients to your body?

Yet you have problems with your digestive systems? It is because there are other factors it considers which we cannot touch or see or store but they have the equivalent importance in the digestion process.

Various research, time and again, have proved that body movements and intake of food are not the only parameters for smooth digestion. Though nutritional food intake at regular intervals and proper exercise routine plays the crucial role, but the digestion process takes mind, emotions, pleasure and environment into consideration for the proper digestion of food.

In other words a stronger digestive system can be define as the chemical process where the combination of thoughts, feelings, beliefs and experience takes equal part with what we eat and how we eat.

Before moving on how these different parameters work on the digestion process, let me first put down few scenarios where we are eating but digestion process is not completed.

Mind - Do you continue to munch while watching television irrespective of whether you are hungry or not?

Feelings - Have you witnessed that you eat more when emotionally drowned?

Environment – Environment also play the important role. To explain this let me put the simple example. Sitting in the conference room during the lunch time in between intense official discussions you are eating your lunch. While eating you are actively participating in the discussions and thinking hard on the solutions of the problems that are being discussed.

During this time our mind goes into mode in which our body switches itself from digestive mode to non digestive mode. Reason is simple that more energy flows towards mind enabling it to think more and thereby it can provide you the solutions of the problems.

Now, let me discuss on how the above parameters play the role in the digestion process.

Case 1: When you are not hungry but you are feeding it because you like munching while watching the movie or when you are emotional or it is just the time to eat the meal.

Case 2: You have too many tasks to complete so while eating you are trying to wrap up the pending tasks or talking with your beloved on phone or doing the last minute changes to the project you are suppose to submit post lunch or you are rushing with eating as you are late to work.

In both the cases what do you think your body does with the food that you eat?

It does either of two things

1) It discards it as the waste.

2) It stores the extra food for future requirements.

This is because our body system is such that it can either be in digestive mode or non digestive mode. So if you are combining eating task with anything else, it just switch of the digestive mode and turn on the non digestive mode where more energy is flowed towards thinking instead of processing the food for the digestion. What is the result? Simple, the digestion problem, inspite of eating the best quality food and doing exercise on time.

So next time when you sit for eating, sit in the comfortable mood with your entire mind on eating for proper digestion. Enjoy, feel each and every byte of food.

How to remove pimples from face?

Pimples are annoying and they look ugly on face.
Invest in a facial cleanser! If you have dry skin go with a cream, where as if you have oily go for a one that foams or a gel (that is oil free) or if you have combination skin go for a gel (a foaming one can work also).

Type of Face
If you don't know what type skin you have this is how you check.First wash your face with warm water. Then PAT your skin dry (do not rub your face as this can cause the same effect of picking or squeezing your pimples, which you don't want). For the next hour try and not touch your face, then after the hour is up apply rice paper or cleaning tissue to your face.
1) If the paper sticks to the whole or most of your face and becomes translucent in some spots then you have oily skin
2) If it doesn't stick to your face at all you have dry skin
3) If it sticks to only or mostly your T-Zone (forehead, nose and chin) then you have combination skin.

You need to use your cleanser preferably twice a day but once a day should be fine. With that you need to wash your face (NO SOAP because soap dries out the skin, not good even for oily skin) twice a day.

Just drink alot of water and try to eat fruits and veggies. Wash your face before you go to bed and wake up.
Try to wash your face all the time don't use any crap product and eat only dry food ,,don't eat oily food...its remove your pimple very soon.

Causes for pimples:

1) Unhygienic face
2) Excess exposure to sun light
3) Pollution
4) Improper eating habits
5) Excess usage of soap
6) Not drinking enough water

How to remove pimples permenantly:
1) Keep the face clean and hygiene - When we go out, our face gets exposed to loads of chemicals and the dust particles gets accumulated on the face especially if the skin is oily. This is the most common cause of pimple on face. In order to prevent this, make sure to keep cleansing pads with you and clean your face regularly. Also, try to wash your face twice or thrice with the warm water and face gels.

2) Avoid using Soap on the face - Avoid soap as it can dry out the skin and further irritate it, this in turn leads to more oil production from the sebaceous glands which indirectly lead to acne and pimples.

3) Make sure the pillow used while sleeping is clean - While we sleep, our face gets direct contact with the cover sheet of pillow. Make sure the sheet you using is bacterial free and clean the sheet every 2 to 3 days. Once a week, remove the sheet and keep the pillow in the sunlight which naturally cleans out the pillow and makes it bacterial free.

4) Reduce the hard make up usage - Try to use a light make up when going out as dust get stick to hard make ups. Also many a times, make up products blocks the skin pores which reduce the oxygen flow in the skin.

5) Wash your face with warm water twice or thrice in a day - This is the most easiest to do. Keep washing your face with warm water as it opens the skin pores that may get blocked due to pollution thus ensures the proper flow of oxygen and keep the skin healthy.

6) Eat lots of fruits - Natural fruits have lots of anti-oxidants. Fruits helps in generation of natural oil which is beneficial for the face.

7) Cover the face with a scarf - While moving out into crowded places, try to cover your face with a scarf. This makes sure the skin is prevented against harmful dust and chemicals.

8) Apply tooth paste, curd, papaya, etc - Toothpaste can help to dry out pimples and it also reduces swelling faster. Curd is considered as a natural moisturizer for face. Try to apply them just before taking bath and leave them for 10 minutes.
